“I have known Martin for several years now and strongly support his application to stand for Labour in Sighthill and Gorgie.
He has already contributed greatly to the party, and he will make an able and diligent Councillor.
George Foulkes Former Lothian MSP and Councillor for Sighthill
Lets win Sighthill and Gorgie in 2027
Sighthill and Gorgie have gone far too long without a Labour councillor to fight for them.
Across our ward, residents are feeling neglected. In Dalry and Gorgie, soaring housing and rental costs are pricing local people out of their own neighbourhoods. In Sighthill and Broomhouse, redevelopment funding continues to fall short compared to other parts of Edinburgh.
It’s time for a change. Together, we can rebuild Labour’s presence here and give Sighthill and Gorgie the dedicated voice it deserves on the city council.
I grew up in Edinburgh and I am a community councillor in the West End. I first joined the Labour party at university in 2001. I worked in the NHS for five years and then spent 15 years living and working abroad, setting up several successful businesses.
Returning to Edinburgh with my family four years ago, I have been an active Labour party member and tireless campaigner across the city. I built the Edinburgh Labour website and have led and participated in many campaigns across Edinburgh and Fife. I am involved with several charities, primarily focused on environmental issues, and I was one of the co-founders of the Save Gorgie Farm campaign in 2022.
